Break ups and divorce go hand in hand. You don’t have to be married to have a break up, but if you do break up and you are married then you’re headed for divorce. Both of these suck big time. So what’s the difference?

A break up is usually an emotional issue. Your feelings might be hurt and you may be sad.
A divorce is a legal issue. By the time you know you need a divorce you’ve already had your break up.
A break up usually has an emotional approach. You’re flushing their toothbrush down the toilet or putting their clothes in the donation pile.
A divorce needs a business approach. If you take an emotional approach to your divorce it will get messy, drawn out, and costly. Get whatever emotional help you need so that your emotions don’t negatively impact your divorce negotiations.
