Hi, I’m Claudia and I am delighted to meet you. I can tell you that I know first-hand how painful divorce can be, but I also know that things do get better. This isn’t the end of your story, it’s just the end of a chapter in your very long book of life.
So, here’s what you need to know. Divorce doesn’t have to be an all-out war. You’re not going to sign your divorce papers and be BFFs, but you don’t have to be mortal enemies either. My goal is to help you resolve your differences so that you can part ways in a peaceful and healthy manner that provides for both of your respective futures and takes care of the emotional and physical well-being of your children if you have any (yes, fur-babies count).
We do this through mediation which is inherently conscious and respectful. It is confidential and private, which means you aren’t telling all of your business in open court. You don’t have to take the whole day off of work to sit in traffic on your way to court, pay for parking, go through security, and wait for several hours until the judge calls your case. You just take a couple hours off work to mediate online. Or you can schedule an evening or weekend online mediation session. Each session is only 2 hours long so you’ll still be able to have a life on a mediation day. We’ll schedule two or three sessions, depending on the issues that need to be resolved, then we’ll draw up the paperwork, you’ll sign it and it will be submitted to the court. This is a broad overview but we can go into more detail when we talk on the phone where I can answer all of your questions.
Here’s some information that you may not care about but you should. I hold a Master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine Law School. This degree is very important because it means that I have extensive training in mediation, and the Straus Institute is frequently ranked #1 in the country for its Dispute Resolution program. I also have a Master’s degree in Political Science from Claremont Graduate University. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History from Cal State San Marcos. In addition, I hold a California Teaching Credential and an Administrative Services Credential. The reason those credentials are relevant to you is because they represent my almost 20 years in public education. That means I know a lot about kids and I also love them. At the end of the day I am always going to encourage you to make decisions that are in the best interest of your children and that sets them up for success. Lastly, I am a member of Southern California Mediators Association and the Academy of Professional Family Mediators.
I would really love to chat with you and see if us working together would be a good fit to help you end this chapter peacefully and start a new one with joy and gratitude.
